Bubba Nosferatu dead in the water?

Bruce Campbell positively confirms that he is not involved with Bubba Nosferatu

The minute I post the message stating that nothing has been going on with Bubba Nosferatu recently then the bombshell gets dropped. In an interview with Fangoria, Bruce Campbell has stated that he is not involved with the Bubba Ho-Tep prequel/sequel movie. In the interview Bruce explains that he is *NOT* involved with Bubba Nosferatu. The decision appears to come from Bruce's concerns over a few parts of the script that has been written by Don Coscarelli. It sounds like these concerns were big enough to jeopardise the friendship between Bruce and Don. The rift supposedly relates to Bruce not liking aspects of the past and present nature of the storyline of the movie. Serious stuff then. So where does this leave Bubba Nosferatu? Will the movie get the greenlight without Bruce's involvement? Is Paul Giamatti still going to be involved without Bruce? Don Coscarelli is in a tough position now. The most bankable aspect of the movie was the massive cult following that surround Bruce Campbell. Now that Bruce is out, what are the options available to Don Coscarelli? Well, he has the script ready to go, he does have studios interested in the project, the original movie was successful. Coscarelli is firmly in the driving seat of the project still. Don Coscarelli has mentioned that he might look to recast Bruce's role with someone else with a similar cult status. No names have been put forward for this yet, but it would need to be someone with the fan's full support. How many people are out there that can fill Bruce's sizeable shoes? I guess we'll have to see what happens in the coming weeks. Losing Bruce is a major setback for the movie, but Don Coscarelli is likely to keep things moving forward. All is not lost!
